Redesign...How is it done?
We
start with a clean palette by removing all furniture, lamps and artwork
from the room of your choice. Large pieces are brought back in so
that they best relate to the size, shape and architectural features of
the room. Once the large items are placed properly, the placement
of lamps, wall art and accessories becomes more apparent.
Now
we take time to use our design eye in the other rooms to see if they
hold items that might better compliment the makeover room.
Occasionally the "just right" item may not be in the home and we give
specific suggestions for shopping, whether by the homeowner or our own
personal shopping service.
To design or redesign -
that is the question. If you aren't sure if you should use what
you have, or purchase new furniture, ask yourself these questions:
-
is your furniture
worn out or very outdated
-
does your budget
allow replacements
-
would you like
updated and "wow" window treatments
-
do you need a few
dramatic accessories to add punch to a room you feel is
"almost" complete
-
do you want to
paint your white walls but are afraid to choose a color scheme
These,
and other dilemmas, can be resolved with a design consultation. At
a home visit, lasting about an hour, the client asks for suggestions to
solve their design questions.
If paint color,
fabric selections, furniture style, or window treatments costs are
involved, our fee includes a follow up report of
recommendations.
On
the other hand...
-
do you like your
"stuff" but feel it looks crowded or disorganized
-
do you feel you
have too much or too little in a room
-
is the function of
the room obvious or confusing
-
do you think you
have tried every way to arrange your room but still are not
satisfied
-
are you happy with
what you see from every angle in the room
-
are you downsizing
to a smaller place but are not sure what to take
-
are you selling a
home and want to make it "show well"
Now
you need a redesigner's expertise. For a modest fee and a few hours of time,
you will discover what the general concerns of clients has been.
"I can't believe it's the same room." You will have the
comfort and satisfaction of being surrounded by things you love that are
placed "just right."
